Yippee! Spring is here and it's official as of yesterday. I'd love to report on all the new trends and the looks of the runways that I envy, but I feel like
nothing is new and it's all the same as last year. Gladiators? Check. Shorts, bathing suit, florals, flowy tops? Check. The hippie 60s? Check and check. The only thing new and different is I really would love to own a voluminous short mini skirt. It would look amazing with a white wife beater tucked in and belted with gladiators and slouchy bag. Unfortunately, the only one I have found is this $1,000 one by Mui Mui, and unfortunately there is no way in h-e-double hockey sticks that my parents would even consider buying me a skirt for that much, and I wouldn't even think to ask.

I'm thinking of buying a longer skirt with volume and cutting it and making it shorter, but I don't know how that would work out. I take on so many DIY projects and rarely finish them, remember my trash can post and the dying my Anthropologie tunic? Both are sitting in my room unfinished, maybe this weekend I should get around to completing them...

It wouldn't be that hard to sew actually. But it would be hard to find fabric of such nice color!
go for it! simply cutting and hemming a skirt is not to hard....just make sure to cut evenly and don't accidentally cut it too short! good luck!!!
i really like that skirt pictured there!
Also try the kids section! Who knows, you might find something nice. And then it will probably already be a bit shorter....esp if your planning on wearing it a bit high waisted!
