Do you remember a few years back, when the whole Avril look was in? The tie around the neck, the studded belt, the baggy jeans and men's oxford shirts. No, don't worry its not coming back in. But studded belts have been re-vamped and are the thing to have. Very versatile and totally chic, I'd say this would be an investment piece. I love how utterly feminine it is but still a very strong piece; it won't compete with your gorgeous frock you want to show off but it will still be able to dress up the jeans and top combo. You'll be able to wear it for at least a year, and even if it only stays that long I can guarantee you that it will come back again. Make sure it is tastefully done and not tacky in any way. Because tacky equals trashy, and we all hate that.
