Project Runway Gets Bitten

So, Project Runway was on Wednesday and I hope you all remembered to watch because it was fabulous as always. The designers this week, were asked to make 2 pieces for Sarah Jessica Parker's Line, "Bitten", for Steve and Barry's. The two pieces had to retail for $40, so their budget was a mere $15. Some of the designs, to put it nicely, were WAY out there. But the Victorya's winning design was simply stunning, and better yet, as of yesterday, it is now available on sale at Steve & Barry's store locations.

Of course, yours truly went shopping yesterday to go buy herself some wonderful Project Runway goodness. And I even had to go to Poor Man's Plaza (the nick name for the mall that the Steve & Barry's is in, its a long story). I risked me life to bring this report to you. Ok, not really, but still I did have to wake up early to go to the store, before it was sold out, 4AM mind you. It came in two colors, burgundy and dark blue. Just as stunning on the hanger as it was on the runway and only $20. I got to to the dressing room only to find myself disappointed, my small frame could not handle the volume of this dress and therefor looked like I was wearing a tent. The vest was cute, but I failed to purchase it because it was nothing amazing and I had other places to go. I should have known better, small people just simple cant pull of that voluminous look. But still, I wanted to at least try. Steve & Barry's claims to be affordable quality, although I found this particular dress to be that of very low. However, a short sleeve turtleneck sweater I tried on, was gorgeous, soft and very good quality for its $14.99 price tag. I think later this weekend, I will be going back there to take another look at SJP's line.

I hope in the future, we are given the opportunity to buy looks from Project Runway at affordable prices. Although, I know most likely we will never have this wonderful chance again.
